Experience One Bangkok

One Bangkok will be a new global landmark – a fully integrated world-class district in the heart of Bangkok. Located at the corner of Wireless Road and Rama IV Road with direct linkages to the city’s burgeoning mass transit systems, One Bangkok is a holistically designed district that will cover over 40 acres, equivalent to the size of about 20 football fields. The ‘city within the city’ aims to be the first LEED-Neighbourhood Development Platinum development in Thailand. Its lush landscape, ample public spaces, and informal network of pedestrian-friendly circulation ensures that One Bangkok will be well-connected, accessible and inclusive, while inspiring new forms of public participation. We will tour the state-of-the-art show suite, followed by a hard-hat tour and hear from the team leading the US$3.5 billion mixed-use development comprising residential, retail, commercial and cultural uses.

Thailand Creative and Design Center (TCDC) & the Charoen Krung neighbourhood

Departing from W Bangkok, we begin our tour at the Grand Postal Office, now home to the TCDC on Charoen Krung road. Its future is looking bright as an events location with strong programming and as a constant landmark in the Creative District. The TCDC’s arrival caps an incredible rise for Bangkok’s oldest road, which in recent years has seen a spate of cool bars and galleries take over old shop-houses.

Learn about the genesis and placemaking of the Creative District from David Robinson, who has lived in Bangkok since 2002 and was appointed by the Bangkok River Partners to market the Chao Phraya River as a premier destination for leisure and tourism.

David will guide us on a bespoke tour of the Creative District, where a collection of hand-picked attractions awaits us. We begin at the Charoen43 Art & Eatery, a new creative power space in the Charoen Krung neighborhood. Next, we visit ATT19; a former heritage building converted into a modern multidisciplinary art space. After, we stop at the Vhils wall, showcasing his carving technique and revealing his memories and history in Bangkok. We then head to Warehouse30, a once unused warehouse turned creative center. The tour concludes at the BUKRUK Wall, Bangkok’s emerging street art, and the ‘new vibe’ of the Charoen Krung neighborhood.

Gaysorn Village – Placemaking for urban regeneration

Based on the concept of an artisan village, Gaysorn Village is a mixed-use development that takes an innovative approach to urban regeneration, creating an experiential focal point where people can reconnect and achieve a WORK, LIVE, PLAY, GROW balanced lifestyle.

We begin the tour at the Cocoon, an architectural masterpiece inspired by a silkworm cocoon. This is followed by an overview of the iconic Ratchprasong district at the Gaysorn Tower lobby. We will then explore the Gaysorn Urban Resort at level 19. A destination within a destination, it takes its cue from a relaxing tropical resort that gives the place a strong holiday vibe, offers multi-functional venues for “Social Cultivation” and co-working spaces under the concept of “collaboration” ideal for business and private events. Next, we visit Gaysorn Walk to understand its placemaking principles.

The tour will conclude at Gaysorn Amarin sales gallery where participants will hear from Khun Charn Srivikorn, Chairman of Gaysorn Property, whose eye for stewardship, placemaking and lifestyle programming reimagined a traditional luxury mall into a unique urban community. Khun Charn will share Gaysorn Village’s urban regeneration programme and engage in an open discussion about its challenges, successes, and future.

Morning jog/walk: Benjakitti Forest Park

Located in downtown Bangkok, the park was previously an industrial site for a state-owned cigarette manufacturer, but the Thai royal family has breathed new life into the area, transforming it into an urban ecological forest park to improve Bangkok’s liveability. With the intention to create the first wetland park of Bangkok, some two-third of the park’s front area was used to build a large pond under the concept of “Pa Rak Nam (Forest Protecting Water Resource)”.

Local resident, Khun Thanapol Sirithanachai (Woody), Country CEO of Frasers Property Thailand, who is an avid jogger, will guide this tour.
